ABOUT THE EVENT
Build More Than Just a Structure - Find Yourself Again
Discover the transformative power of creation at the 4-day hands-on Bad Axe Timber Framing Workshop. Imagine: a hammer and chisel helping you unplug from the daily grind and reconnect-not just with your hands, but with your true purpose.
Guided by a master with 35 years of experience, you’ll learn the traditional art of timber framing, crafting real joinery. This workshop is set on a peaceful 7-acre forest property in DeForest, Wisconsin, and accommodates just 6 participants for deep focus and genuine connection.
With over 30 years of experience as a carpenter, artist, and instructor, Mike Yaker channels his passion to teach and inspire creativity through woodworking. He mastered finish carpentry before transitioning to timber framing, barn restoration, and the traditional craft of shaping wood by hand with an axe.
Now known as Chief Bad Axe – The Speaking Tree, Mike shares his love for woodworking to inspire others to Chop Wood, Make Stuff, and Know Tree.
